PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

A. This tense is used to express the action or condition which were in progress at the time of another activity in he past.

Examples :
- I was studying when the light went out
- The telephone rang when I was having a bath

B. This tense is also used to express a situation like gradual development.

Examples :
- It was getting darker
- The wind was rising
